Next Wednesday, October 11th, our friends from the Discover Museum of Acton are coming back for another visit! Last year they taught us about the science of sound in the fall and then we learned about magnets in the spring! Wednesday we will get a chance to learn about the science of BUBBLES!

Dear LEAP Parents,

We hope that everyone is having a wonderful school year so far. We would like to kindly remind you that LEAP closes at 6pm. There will always be one staff member to stay late for emergencies. We care about these kids and we know that the unexpected happens sometimes. However, we would like to reiterate our late policy in the parent handbook:

“LEAP is in session from the end of the school day until 6:00 p.m. It is important that you pick up your child on time as our staff members have other commitments at the end of the day. If you are late, a fee will be charged as follows: $5 up to the first 10 minutes and $5 for every five minutes after that. Please be prepared to pay upon arrival.”

We try to be there for our LEAP families and help as much as possible because we do understand the various situations that arise. Please be courteous and compassionate to the LEAP staff members that stay late with your children. We appreciate your help in making pick up time run smoothly.

Once a month we will feature a new teacher here on the website. Get to know some of our new teachers, and learn something new about the veterans.

We had so much fun apple picking and we hope the kids did too! This weekend is perfect for making some apple treats, here at LEAP, Kristen is making Apple Oatmeal cookies for snack today!

Wednesday September 27th will be LEAP’s first field trip! We are going apple picking at Honey Pot Hill in Stow! Please make sure you sign an apple picking permission slip so that your student can join us!

Today is the first day of LEAP CLUBS!

What are CLUBS? Since Wednesday is a longer day here at LEAP, we strive to do some extra special stuff. CLUBS are a chance to do some activities for a longer period of time over the course of several weeks. Today, LEAPers will be able to choose from four clubs that will last through the month of October!

1. Dance and Yoga with Kristen and Kelly
2. Halloween Hullabaloo Decorations with Debbie and Jamie
3. Sports Extravaganza with Griffin and Ashley
4. Legos4Life with Louise and Jordan

We can’t wait to find out where your kids will find their passion!

You may have noticed the wonderful smell of hot buttery popcorn when you walked into LEAP this past week. Here at LEAP we have a time honored tradition that many kids know about—and I’m here to share with the parents.

Although we provide a healthful snack here at leap, kids are always welcome to bring snacks from home, or eat their leftover snacks from school. They are also welcome to bring microwave popcorn to LEAP, and the teachers will gladly pop it in the microwave for them after choices are finished. Feel free to send your child with a bag of popcorn, especially on these cold, rainy days.
