About: Mariasa D
Where are you from? I grew up in Leominster, Ma. Now I live in Quincy.
Any siblings? I have one younger brother.
How do you de-stress? Get cozy and read a book or draw.
Tell us about your education? I have 2 BA degrees from UMass Boston. One in English and one in Anthropology.
Before working at LEAP, what other jobs did you have? I am currently a special education tutor for LPS. I was also the arts and crafts teacher for the Lincoln Summer camp. Before graduating, I worked in IT and as a waitress.
Fun Fact about yourself? I went to Italy for the first time this summer! It was awesome!
What are your long-term career goals and aspirations? To be a special education teacher.
At LEAP:
Tell us about your role and position at LEAP? I work with all the age groups, but mainly with the 1st graders and kindergarteners.
What about LEAP made you want to work here in the first place? I heard about LEAP from all the kids at the school and instantly wanted to join the fun.
What is your proudest memory at LEAP? Teaching the kids the “Thriller” dance!
What is your favorite activity at LEAP? Project. Art is my favorite.
