Happy Fall everyone! We have had a great start to the year, with many exciting activities and a perfect day trip to Honey Pot Orchards!

Last week we started our Wednesday clubs, which have been a total hit!  Our club choices are; “Let’s get cooking”, Halloween decorations, New England sports, Nature and Theater.  The kids will continue in their clubs for 2 more weeks.

This Wednesday, October 17th, LEAP will take a field trip to Wamesit Lanes in Tewksbury, Ma to learn some new skills and have a friendly game with friends and have the chance to win some prizes in their cool new arcade!  Please be sure to fill out a permission slip or email LEAP to confirm that your child will be attending.

Next Wednesday October 24th Lincoln’s annual Trunk or Treat festival at 5pm! Before we go over, we’ll have a whole day of Halloween themed activities, culminating in a Costume Party and Contest. Send your kids with their Halloween costumes so they can participate, and we’ll meet you at Trunk or Treat!

 November 7, 2018 the second-seventh grade will be going to Merrimack Valley Pavilion, Tewksbury, Ma to mini golf and play laser tag.  Kindergarten and first grade will be exploring the Discovery Museum in Acton. 

 November 14, the LEAP Kindergarten, first and second grade will participate in a safety day.  We will have the Lincoln police and Firemen come visit and talk to us about their jobs and show us some of their equipment.  The older grades will be going to watch the middle school play.  At pick up on 11/14/18 you will be able to have your children’s picture and fingerprints taken at no charge if you so choose, this is a free Child ID program, put on by Concord Wealth Management.

Last Friday we had 40 kids participate at our monthly Fun Night! LEAP kids get to eat pizza, watch a movie, and make ice cream sundaes all while spending time with their LEAP friends. Sign your kids up for our next Fun Night, November 2, 2018 and take the night off while your kids have a blast in a fun, safe, place.

We have our date set, December 15, 2018 for our Annual Acapella night!  Please reserve that evening for a fun and entertaining event with the LEAP and Lincoln community.

A note to parents: please remember to sign your children out at the end of each day.  This is very important to ensure the safety of all children.  Thank you everyone for your continued help with keeping your kids safe!

Dearest LEAP parents-

We hope you had a great summer and we are so excited to be starting a new school year with you. Due to the excessive heat warning that has been issued, LEAP will be postponing its opening day from Wednesday August 29 to Thursday August 30.

With the heat index hitting 105 degrees, we need to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone. The LEAP facilities are not equipped with air conditioning and we feel this is the best option to keep the students safe.

Thank you for understanding and we can’t wait to see you all this Thursday August 30!

Hello LEAPers! We hope everyone is having an amazing summer so far! Here at LEAP we are starting to get ready for another great school year and looking back on the past year with wonderful memories! The kids are a little bit older, the teachers are a little bit wiser, and everyone here at LEAP is so happy and fortunate to have this amazing program.
We did so many incredible things this past year that we just can’t fit it all into a little newsletter – So we made a slideshow! We want you to know how incredibly grateful we are to have been able to spend another year with all of you!

This year we got to experience some amazing things, like special visits from the Discovery Museum in Acton, Curious Creatures, and Drone Pilot Joe! LEAP had cool theme days like Dr. Suess Day, and Pokemon Day, as well as fun CLUBS, a Color Wars Competition, and more! We also took LEAPers on incredible field trips such as apple picking at Honey Pot Orchard, roller skating at Roller Kingdom, and jumping around at Jump On In! LEAP is super lucky to have a wonderful community surrounding it to participate in events like the COA winter sing-along, Technology day where the big kids were able to help seniors with their tech needs, visiting DeCordova museum, and let’s not forget Drumlin Farm, a wonderful nature sanctuary right here in town. But all of our Fun Nights and Wednesday activities are just the icing on “Kristen’s Cookies” compared to the incredible and educational activities the teachers plan for LEAP students every single day. This year we were so excited to introduce STEM as one of the daily choices, and we hope the kids enjoyed these experiments as much as the teachers did!

We are happy to announce that many of our LEAP staff members will be joining us again for another year! We are sad to see a few go, but we are excited for them to start a new chapter of their lives, and we wish them luck in their new adventures.
No matter where you are or what you’re doing this summer, we hope you keep the LEAP spirit alive in your hearts. Registration for next year is already open, and we have new rates. Make sure to check it all out by going to the forms and handbooks page. We are extending the Early Bird discount for registration until the end of July–make sure to sign up soon and the registration fee will be half price!  Have a great summer and we’ll see you in August!
